Call Dibs

for the family Christmas

Everyone's lists.
One family link.
No more guessing.

Mum, Dad, Nana and the kids each add what they'd really love this Christmas to one page. Pick something off their list and call dibs so the family knows it's sorted. They get what they actually wanted, and it's still a surprise.

Free. Name it, then sign in to save it. The family joins from the link with just their name.

How it works

Set it up over a cup of tea. Everyone else just taps a link.

  1. Send one link

Start a Christmas Circle and drop the invite in the family chat. Everyone joins with their name: no account, no app.

  2. Everyone adds a list

Paste links from any shop. Add one for the kids too: you keep it for them, so you see what's been picked.

  3. Call dibs for each other

Pick a gift and call dibs. The rest of the family sees who's getting what, so nobody turns up with the same jumper.

Everyone knows what's sorted. Except the person it's for.

Each person's page is made for them, so there's nothing on yours to spoil the day. Here's Mum's fig and cedar perfume from three seats at the table.

  • You

    your page

You see Mum's list and can call dibs on the fig and cedar perfume. You can't see who's called dibs on your own list.

  • Lists for the little ones

Keep a list for someone who can't, like a child. Because you look after it, you see every dib on it, and nothing doubles up.

Questions, answered

Does the whole family need an account?
Only whoever starts it, and it's free. Everyone else opens the invite link, types their name and they're in. No account, no app, no password to forget.
Who can see who called dibs?
Everyone, except on their own list. Members see each other's names on the gifts they've called dibs on. On your own list you see nothing at all. Anyone opening a list's ordinary share link outside the Circle sees the gift as taken, with no name.
Can I add a list for my children?
Yes. Choose "For someone else" when you add a list and say who it's for. You keep that list for them, so you can see who's called dibs on what.
We're two sides of the family. Can one list be in both?
Yes. Start a Circle for each side and bring the same list into both. Names never cross between Circles: dibs called in one show as taken, without a name, in the other.
Can we club together on a big present?
Yes. Start a group gift on a big item and the others chip in towards it from the Circle page.
What happens next Christmas?
You carry it over. The organiser carries the Circle over. Last year's closes, everyone's link opens the new one, and each person is offered a fresh list made from last year's gifts nobody claimed.
Is it only for Christmas?
It's made for it, but no. Pick Christmas and the date fills in as the 25th. For anything else where everyone gives to everyone, choose "Something else" when you start it and give it a name.
Is it free, and does it work with UK shops?
Yes to both. Starting a Circle, joining and calling dibs are free. Call Dibs is made in the UK, lists take product links from any shop, from Amazon.co.uk and John Lewis to Etsy sellers and independents, and people buy directly from the shop.
